A Long running Rumour !
It's been reported since 2019 that Marvel is upto do something related to Hulk very soon. Over the years, Multiple characters were rumoured to star in "then rumoured" Hulk film like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine himself. The only problem was that they didn't have the Character Right for Hulk to make a dedicated Heart Show or Film then. The Character Right for Hulk is still not yet shifted to Disney but its been reported that it could happen by the end of June 2023.
Meaning that Marvel Studios ( Disney ) can finally use Hulk in his own solo Disney+ Show or a Film.
How is World War Hulk already confirmed ?
Mark Ruffalo in his one of recent interview quite clearly said that he's interested into exploring more of Hulk and doing a solo Planet Hulk or World War Hulk Movie. Already itself confirmed that Bruce Banner / Hulk has got some unfinished business at Sakaar & the way Smart Hulk talked about the Sakaar very much showed that he knows what Sakaarians are upto. Maybe he's in touch with them as well.
Many insiders & Theorist believe that it was Skaar ( Hulk's Son from Comics ) who was in the Sakaarian Ship, came to meet his father.
All of these things opens a very wide range of Character Adventure for both Angry Hulk & Smart Hulk for a Prequel or perhaps a Sequel.
Rumoured Plot Leak for Marvel's World War Hulk
“World War Hulk will release in either 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 and will be in two parts along with adapting some parts of Civil war 2
The first film will be a Hulk Centric movie with him in space finding Skarr and eventually turning into world breaker hulk by the end
Part two will feature multiple mcu heroes as they decide whether to kill Hulk or to keep him alive. This eventually leads to a fight between two different sides and eventually come together to kill Hulk.
The heroes featured will be She Hulk, Captain Marvel, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Monica, Doctor Strange, Thor (Jane Foster), Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Yelena, War Machine, Spider-Man, Songbird, Mr. Fantastic, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, Sersi and Black Knight. Some heroes will die during the fight (Likely Hawkeye and War Machine)”
Marvel Comics is releasing Planet Hulk Prequel Comic !
Just when all of things were happening Marvel Comics just announced a Prequel Comic of Planet Hulk / World War Hulk for the adventures & Journey of Hulk on Sakaar. Though for now it is not confirmed whether it will be canon for the MCU or not but it seems like it will be.
When will World War Hulk release ?
The charcter rights for Hulk will reportedly shift to Disney by the end of June 2023 meaning they can not anounce or begin filming before that time. Though they're already planning their Hulk project for a long time now and as soon as the rights shift back to Disney they'll begin the production of the project asap.
Calculating everything, the project can't be finished by the end of Oc/Nov 2024. So a Possible Release date for Hulk could be Early 2025 or Late 2025 i.e Before Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or after Avengers: Secret Wars.
