Penn Badgley RUMOURED to be the MCU's Reed Richards ?
Penn Badgley who is mostly known of his chilling performance as Joe Goldberg in one the most popular Netflix crime thriller web series YOU is now rumored to be playing the head of Marvel's first family in the upcoming Fantastic Four film which is still scheduled to be released in the November of 2024.

Marvel Studio's Doctor Strange: in the Multiverse of Madness, Many fans were excited and thrilled to see their dream fan-cast being put on to big screen. John Krasinski's role and screen time may have been short in the film but he sure did enough to make the fans wish for his return in the MCU.
However, things took a slight turn when it was officially confirmed that this version of the character was a "Variant" of the MCU's Reed Richards meaning Krasinski was never meant to play the character for the long run and this was only done as a huge "Fan Service". It also meant that the role of Mr. Fantastic was seemingly going to be recast for the upcoming Fantastic Four film.
Now Rumors have sparked once again that Penn Badgley is indeed in talks to play the MCU's version of Reed Richard aka Mr. Fantastic. This rumor was actually pointed out by The Direct who said that the Davin Faraci appeared on a podcast to talk about the MCU and the Multiverse Saga where he also talked about the casting choices and options of Marvel Studio's related to Mr. Fantastic.
Here's what he exactly said:
“I’ve long been stumping for a Black Reed Richards. I think John David Washington would be an incredible Reed Richards, I mean I’ve been stumping for this forever, and I’m not going to get it. I’m not going to get a Black Reed either. [Reed Richards] is going to be very traditional, is my guess…”
"The guys that [Marvel Studios] been talking to about it are all white guys. That guy [Penn Badgley] from the show You, who probably has the role already, frankly, he’s a white guy. They’re going with the standard… And he’s terrific, by the way, that’s a good choice. But, they’re going very classical."
As you have just read that Marvel Studio's are going for a very traditional approach for Reed Richards but it actually makes sense for Penn Badgley to land the role as he is just the right age for it and also has the IT factor (JUST WATCH "YOU") which is required to play someone like Reed Richards who is arguably one of the most brilliant minds in the marvel comics.
Although still nothing can be said strongly because the film is still in early stages of development and an also we are yet to know about who's directing MCU's Fantastic Four. The movie was first announced with MCU Spider-Man trilogy director
Jon Watts but since his exit from the project, there has been no official word on who's going to be the director of the film. Reports also circulated back in July and August that

Matt Shakman was in talks to direct The upcoming Fantastic Four film & if's it's really really true then it may mean that Marvel has already locked the cast for the film in that case we may get an official announcement by Marvel Studio's soon. Perhaps at the
Disney D23 Expo which is scheduled for Friday September 9.
